How to use the voice recorder
- Press "Record voice"Allow the microphone when your browser asks.
- RecordSpeak or sing. Earphones with a mic give the cleanest sound.
- Edit and saveCut mistakes, remove noise, then Export as MP3.
Your recording never leaves your device.
Record clean audio with the phone you already have
You do not need a studio microphone to make a clear recording. Echoly records from your phone or computer microphone and opens the recording straight in the editor, so you can cut mistakes and clean it up immediately.
Tips for a clean recording
Switch off the fan and cooler if you can, and record in a room with curtains or a bed, which soak up echo. Keep the phone about a hand's width from your mouth, slightly to the side so your breath does not hit it. Wired earphones with a mic often sound better than the phone's own microphone.
Check the level
Watch the meter while you speak a test sentence. The loudest words should fill most of the meter without hitting the end. If it is too quiet, move closer; if it is too loud, move back.
After recording
Cut the start and end, use Quick Polish for noise and loudness, add echo or background music in the Voice Studio, and export as MP3.

Questions about the voice recorder
Is there a time limit?
No fixed limit. Long recordings use more memory, so on phones keep them under about an hour.
Where is my recording saved?
It stays in your browser until you export it. Echoly also keeps an automatic backup in your browser in case the page closes.
Why can't it use my microphone?
Allow microphone access when the browser asks. If you said no before, open the site settings next to the address bar and allow it.
Can I record over music?
Record your voice first, then add music with the Audio mixer or the Voice Studio.
