How to use the vocal remover
- Open a stereo songPress "Open audio file". It must be stereo (two channels).
- Listen liveThe Remove vocals window opens. Move the slider and hear it.
- Apply and savePress Apply, then Export.
This quick method works best when the singer is in the middle of the mix, as in most film songs and bhajans. Some songs keep a faint voice.
How the quick vocal remover works
In most songs the main singer is placed exactly in the middle between the left and right speakers, while instruments are spread to the sides. Echoly's quick vocal remover cancels what is identical in both channels, which removes the centred voice in a few seconds, right in your browser.
Bass and drums stay
Bass and kick drums are usually centred too, so cancelling everything in the middle would make the track thin. Echoly keeps the low frequencies below about 110 Hz, so the rhythm stays strong.
When it works well, and when it does not
It works best on stereo film songs, bhajans and pop songs with a single lead singer in the middle. It cannot work on mono files (both sides identical), and songs with wide stereo reverb on the voice may keep a faint echo of the singer. Use the slider to find the balance.
Sing in your key
After removing the vocals, use the Pitch changer to move the music into your range, then record yourself with the Voice recorder.

Questions about the vocal remover
Why does nothing change?
The file is probably mono. The quick vocal remover needs a stereo song with different left and right channels.
Can I get only the vocals instead?
Not with this quick method. It removes the centre; extracting the voice alone needs a heavier AI model.
Will the karaoke track be stereo?
The voice cancellation leaves the side sound, which plays on both speakers along with the kept bass.
Is the song uploaded?
No, the processing happens on your own device.
